Advanced Class Dates for Wed and Sun classes...

hi all,

in case you don't know, there are Wed night advanced class 7:30-9:30pm at my house...

There are also advanced classes on two sundays a month at my house 2 pm-4 pm ... proposed newyear schedule is below, if you want to weigh in on dates, that would be cool.

here's the proposed date schedule for Sunday Classes... if there are dates here that don't work for you, or we need to re-arrange, let me know. Once I get a consensus on these dates, I'll add them to the calendar.

Please post if you DO intend to go so I can get some expectation of head-count for these classes.

The Jan 15 date may be iffy for some folks because of the hafla and the stiletto event, so in particular I need to know if there will be any one intending to be there.

Middle Eastern Drumming and Music in Big Bear

New Solace “Balance” CD at Tribal Fest 5

Hey everyone, I will be at TF5 with a gang of Balance CDs, so if you haven't ordered them yet, come by the booth and buy one, I'll even sign them! Our table will be located in the main room by Keith and Tempest's table.

In regards to shipping of pre-orders; all out of state pre-orders will ship on May 11, unless you indicated it on your order form. I will bring all Californian pre-orders with me to TF5, so please supply your drivers license for identity confirmation.

Also, Solace will be playing some of the Balance songs live on Saturday night at 7:30. Come show your support, or point and laugh when we make a mistake.

Can't wait to see everyone!

New Solace CD "Balance"

It’s been one and a half years since I have been working on the next Solace. A lot of work and research has been spent to get the sound that I am looking for. I am very happy to announce Solace’s forthcoming CD “Balance” (eve13), which will be released at Tribal Fest 2005, Saturday May 14 when the doors open. I could not make the Rakkasah release in March, there are just to many other things going on. It seems more appropriate to release it at Tribal Fest, since it has tribal fusion qualities. There will be pictures and clips on the EMP site soon, but for now, here is a description:

“There lies a place not often explored where the dragon and phoenix struggle toward balance. Tibetan horns are heard far off in the distance; flutes and vocals hum a solemn melody, fingers dance on the strings of a lute; rumbling drums echo like a crescendo of gusting wind. Solace takes us farther east fusing Middle Eastern compositions with Far Eastern themes and percussion. “Balance” marriages these distinct tonalities creating a unique cross-cultural blend of traditionalism and the electronic elements of Ambient, Trance and Trip-Hop.”

I will post the CD cover on the Solace tribe, more may come soon, and I will keep you all posted.

I appreciate all of the support and love that I’ve received over the years, thank you for allowing me to be myself within the realm of my creativity and art. I know sometimes my music goes to one extreme to another, but you have all stayed faithful and steadfast and I cannot say enough to the overwhelming response of admiration and support. To that, I tip my hat to you the fans, my friends, my vendors and all the musicians who have helped me through the years.
